Tonight's run was a bit sluggish, my body was just not in the game. It was definitely one of those "push through" runs. I added a mile to make up for last week's fiasco and it was tough to get it done, but I did and that is always a good feeling (afterwards).
I have started to ponder what I will do after the marathon. I definitely don't want to lose momentum but I am unsure how to continue training. More marathons? Half marathons? What will motivate me on nights like this, when I really do not want to run?
Here I am getting ahead of myself again...one mile at a time and the pathway will become clear.
I think the "what comes after" will be a problem that fixes itself. Many running folk find that the time they take for themselves to run (for fitness, mental health, and reward) is truly missed when they drift away.
ReplyDeletep.s. I wonder if you have kept track of how many miles, total, you have run? It'd be interesting to say, "I've (cumulatively) run halfway to Seattle!"
ReplyDeleteThat would be cool to figure out, I have all the numbers so I can do the math :)
